# Known Issues & Limitations

> Current known issues and workarounds for PDF Exporter for Confluence

# Known Issues & Limitations

## 1. Complex Third-Party Macros

**Issue:** Third-party Confluence macros (e.g. Jira issue lists, custom app macros) may not render their visual output in the PDF — they may appear as placeholder text or be omitted.

**Workaround:** Screenshot the macro output and embed it as an image on the Confluence page before exporting.

## 2. Large Space Exports May Time Out

**Issue:** Very large spaces (hundreds of pages) may hit Atlassian Forge execution time limits.

**Workaround:** Export in smaller batches — select a page hierarchy or a subset of space pages rather than exporting the full space at once.

## 3. Embedded Videos and iframes

**Issue:** Videos, iframes, and interactive embeds (including HTML Macro content) are not captured in PDF exports — PDFs are static documents.

**Workaround:** Replace video embeds with a screenshot and a link to the video URL before exporting.

## 4. Right-to-Left Languages

**Issue:** RTL text direction (Arabic, Hebrew) may not render correctly in all cover page styles.

**Workaround:** Use Style 1 (minimal) for RTL content, which has the most predictable text flow.

## 5. Image Resolution

**Issue:** Low-resolution images embedded in Confluence pages may appear blurry in the PDF output.

**Workaround:** Replace low-resolution images with higher-resolution versions before exporting.

## 6. Custom Fonts Not Supported

**Issue:** Custom fonts loaded via HTML Macro or CSS are not available in the PDF renderer.

**Workaround:** Use the system fonts available in the template settings (web-safe fonts are fully supported).
